Re: Outstanding Aesthetics and Functionality

I purchased an old, waterfront two-family on Treasure Island in the fall of 2002 when I moved here from Chicago. My desire was to raze the existing structure and build a significantly larger (3X) luxury two-family unit. One unit would serve as my primary residence and I would sell the other condo unit. Since this was a dual function project (home and investment), my list of requirements was very long.

I knew that the irregular pie-shape of the lot and my desire for a unique contemporary look would pose a significant challenge to any architect I might hire. The design possibilities would be endless. Consequently, my plan involved hiring two different architects to provide me with concept drawings. I began by interviewing six different local architects. Some came from referrals and others from the phone book.

The first of the two I would ultimately choose had been involved in many major residential developments in my area and had many years of experience. I frequently saw his name and photo in the newspaper as new developments were announced.

The second architect chosen to provide concept drawings was from Metro. He was the last of the six architects interviewed. He came across as very knowledgeable, excited about the prospect of creating a one-of-a-kind design and not threatened by the “challenge” of competing with another peer to earn the additional work required to complete my construction/permit drawings.

Each architect provided me with three different concepts for my project. Metro was attentive to the list of requirements I provided. During meetings where we discussed plans, he not only “listened” and incorporated the changes desired, but enhanced them as well. Metro’s winning design can only be described as a “show stopper”. The expertly designed floor plan was wrapped inside a beautiful contemporary structure. Everyone who has seen my plans (friends, real estate brokers, general contractors, bankers and even other architects) has been impressed by the creative space utilization and unique exterior of the building which contains over 9,000 square feet under roof. The other architect was never really in the game. Metro’s worst (really an inappropriate word) concept was far better than the best concept from the other architect.

I highly recommend Metro and all of the employees. I will utilize their services for any future needs. I would be happy to discuss my experiences with any potential client. My phone number is 727-410-5949.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you once again for all of your assistance on the above referenced project. I really appreciate that you were able to pull the required information out of the designer, which up until that point, I was unsuccessful in obtaining.

Your “Master Drawings” incorporated all of the outstanding design issues and also provided the clarity needed to be able to finish the project.

Thanks again for your help and I look forward to working with you on future projects.

During the past year, we had the pleasure of using Metro Architects for providing design and construction drawings for a three story building in Clearwater, Florida. The job entailed designing 16,000 square feet of new office space for four tenants.

Metro did an outstanding job, was timely and also provided cost-effective alternatives.

We would strongly recommend their services.

I wanted to thank you and your company for your assistance with our recent move.

Metro worked directly with our owners to design and execute the renovations of our 38,000 square foot facilities in Palm Harbor.

The designs were needed within a very short time period and were completed to our complete satisfaction, and in record time. The assistance was invaluable and helped keep our costs of moving to a minimum.

Please extend our thanks to your professional team at Metro.
