At Metro Architects, we understand what it takes to build a structure that exists beyond the bricks and mortar that shape it. For thousands of years architects have been responsible for constructing buildings that would last and provide for years to come. Following that tradition, our architects go to all lengths possible in order to create an architectural project that will stand the test of time.
When an architect designs a building it must be structurally sound and functional yet aesthetically pleasing. A good architect knows this and can seamlessly combine all of these elements into one structure. At Metro Architects, every architectural project we construct does combine all of these elements in order to meet our high standards of quality.
First, you will meet with an architect that will listen very closely to your ideas and concepts for the architectural project. Then we will pose initial documentation, which serves as the groundwork for your building. From there our architects work with you to embellish, create and innovate a design that enables the architectural project to accurately represent your concept or ideal. Our architects stand by you throughout every phase from design to final construction. We, at Metro Architects, are there to ensure the design is not compromised and that your vision is fully realized.
At Metro Architects, we have learned that the better the client/architect relationship we build, better the architectural project that is produced in the end. Therefore, part of our mission is to establish an exceptional working relationship with you. When you are able to work together as a team with your architect, it assures bringing your vision into reality.
Metro Architects is a company founded on the principle that caring about our clients and their projects is absolutely priceless. Our architects do what it takes to get it done right. The majority of our work is by referral and repeat business. We do not just design buildings; we build relationships.

Our communication skills are as important to us as are our design skills. It is imperative to maintain free flowing communication regarding project status. We now provide our clients with MetroNet, our project extranet where you can view development status 24/7.
We firmly believe in full disclosure of project status at any given time so our clients are always up-to-date. MetroCheck, our unique project checklist keeps us on the mark and you well-informed.
We truly enjoy working with our clients, and know that what we do extends beyond the bounds of most business relationships. This rapport is the foundation of our work even before the first designs are drawn.

This is the motto at Metro Architects. MetroCheck, our standardized project checklist, is kept on every project from start to finish. It details out every step of the project so that absolutely nothing gets missed. Our plans and designs reflect this perfect attention to detail. They are complete before they are released. As a side note: we are regularly told how nice our plans are. We believe this is due to the fact that our plans are orderly, complete, detailed, and that we have a passion for what we do.
Our knowledge of current building materials and industry costs also allows us to avoid unnecessary expensive designs and detailing. Why can we do this and others cannot? Our established quality control and review process allows us to have certainty that the products that we deliver have an absolute minimum of errors and oversights.
We include everything in our drawings that all parties could possibly need.
Getting it right the first time means:
- Building plans move through city official rapidly
- More accurate and complete bids from builders
- Minimal change orders
- Preventing cost overruns

Metro Architects has a reputation for timely delivery and meeting project deadlines. Thanks to our MetroNet (client accessible project status network) we can instantly post any modifications/required adjustments and changes to the schedule and the plans. We provide full disclosure to our clients of the schedule and any changes. MetroCheck (project management checklist) keeps us constantly aware of project status at any given moment. We can relay any or all of that information instantly – to clients, builders, city officials or anyone else needing that data – which allows us to stay on top of it. By constantly monitoring the work we stay on deadline. And because we share this data with our clients, it provides great incentive to always make good on our word.

We have a profound understanding of municipal planning and building codes, enabling us to provide plans that are easily and quickly approved. We have an excellent record of approvals from out-of-town building and planning review boards.
During the initial stages of any project, city planners and zoning officials are the decision-makers regarding the viability of the project in the eyes of the local municipality. Because of our background in Urban Planning, we understand the standards on which these decisions are made. These basics are uniform throughout the United States, with more detailed specifics being implemented regionally. Putting it simply, we speak their language. This allows us to communicate with any city planner or zoning official in any municipality throughout the United States and understand what they need. This results in our furnishing plans and designs that meet with their approval.
Recently, in the new Clearwater Downtown Redevelopment District, Metro Architects was the first firm to receive a development order. This newly established zoning district holds some of the strictest zoning ordinances and review processes in the United States.
Our experience working with zoning ordinances, building codes and planning standards translates into swift approval processes regardless of region or locale for Metro clients.

In a recent client survey, 100% of our clients rated our work as “Very Good” to “Excellent”. Click here to see Testimonials.
These results are achieved through passion, hard-work and experience. Our ability and willingness to face any and all problems head-on allows us to get a great result. And should it come to pass that a client is unhappy we understand that responsibility as well. Our first step is to meet with the client and establish what exactly is causing the upset. Once the area is correctly identified, we implement a review and correction procedure. This problem could be internal to Metro, external to consultants or contractors or with the clients themselves. Regardless as to who is at fault, we consider ourselves responsible for correcting and resolving problems.

Metro Architects was started in Clearwater, Florida in 2000 by two exceptionally talented veteran architects Chris Miller and Andy Paul. Chris, a graduate of Kent State University, has an extremely strong background in Urban Planning and Design. Andy is your untypical 40-year veteran architect from the University of Cincinnati. Both had the desire to create a firm that delivered the highest quality, most accurate, fully complete and creative architectural work to truly fit people’s needs.
Time spent in urban planning at Kent State University School of Architecture and Urban Design has served principal architect, Chris Miller, well and has been of major importance throughout his career. He was heavily involved in the construction phasing and planning of the Cincinnati Riverfront Park redevelopment and Fort Washington Way Highway reconfiguration. This project included the construction of the Cincinnati Bengals football stadium, a phase construction of the Cincinnati Reds ballpark and the large-scale development of 40-acres of mixed use development and Riverfront Park in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
Metro Architect’s hand-picked staff members are considered the best in their respective areas. We select our people based not just on their architectural skills which are of course impeccable, but also in their ability to form strong one-on-one relationships with our clients and provide the high level of service we demand. Rooted in Metro’s success is this ability to work together as a team and foster a strong company spirit leading to our rapid and steady growth.
Architecture, construction and real estate development has become very competitive over the past few years. In an effort to reduce costs and increase profit, architects’ fees are often dropped and the result of this is obviously less complete construction drawings and non-comprehensive document sets. This results in costly expenditures for clients. We have chosen not to go this route. In the long run we end up saving money for our clients due to the level of care and homework we put into every project, from the cost of materials to working with city officials. For the work we do, our fees our extremely competitive.
